A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM

As we approach the end of June I am wondering where the month has gone. It seems as if my children were out of school just yesterday. How time flies when you’re having fun.
During the summer months, my husband and I love to be outdoors with our children ~ listening to the crickets sing, watching the fireflies dance, wishing upon the first star of the night, dreaming that time could stand still. I see their twinkling eyes filled of wonder and delight as they run around the backyard catching the dancing fireflies only to release them seconds later after pondering the fact that they may have children that need them.
Summer slips away from us too quickly as we focus on things that can wait until tomorrow ~ the laundry that needs folding, the clean dishes inside the dishwasher, and many other things that we won’t give a second thought to after we drift off to sleep tonight. Before this summer is a distant memory, I encourage you to forget about the little things that don’t matter and focus on the people in your life that do. Spend the evenings toasting to the sunset, gazing at the stars, take a walk with your best four legged friend ~ whatever you do, savour the moment as you would the very last bite of a delightful pastry, the last sip of your favourite champagne, the last chapter of a enveloping novel. Life passes too quickly ~ enjoy!

I too want to thank you for following my blog.

You are so right about time slipping away. We are in our summer here in Australia and for the past year I have been on an exhausting project and living very little outside of work. Your words are a good reminder to enjoy my holiday time this summer.

    Take care x Julie
