Beautiful Inspiration ~ Baroque Style

I hope you’re having a fabulous week so far!  I just wrapped up the first half of the semester.  It’s flying by so quickly, and, tomorrow, I will register for the final semester toward my Interior Design degree!  I will continue on for more education but at a slower pace.  My family & friends have been incredibly supportive and patient, and I am so grateful for that!

Having a passion for art history, there is no doubt this sumptuous trend has caught my eye.  The Baroque period was an artistic movement that began in the early seventeenth century in Rome, Italy and spread throughout Europe in sculpture, literature, dance, music, architecture, and painting.

I have been smitten with Baroque style for as long as I can remember ~ in this trend, I love the opulent ornamentation of pearls and gold, and the jewel-tone colours.  What better way to welcome autumn?

Dolce & Gabbana embraced the baroque trend, emphasizing it through gilt trim and sheer fabrics.

Dresses dripping with pearls and ornate embroidery at Balmain

I love these Prada sunglasses.  Aren’t they fun?  I tried them on twice last week but I don’t think the round lens suits me.

McQueen bags are always a favourite!

Although it can be quite dramatic, I love it.  What are your thoughts on this trend?

i just visited our daughter who is studying in london
and she told me about the baroque fashion fixation.
i think it's lots of fun, but not for me.

i love that you gave the prada sunglasses two
