I hope you’re staying warm (unless you lucky enough to be in a warm climate!). It started snowing last night and I woke to a blanket of snow covering everything in sight. It looks beautiful; however, I have much to do today and I don’t look forward to driving in it!
A cocktail fitting for a snowy day:
The Snow Day
2 ounces coffee infused rum
2-4 ounces eggnog- warmed
A dash of nutmeg, preferably freshly grated
Warm an 8 ounce heat proof mug or glass with a bit of boiling water and pour out prior to adding the rum.
Froth the heated eggnog using a milk frother or a whisk- the bubbles lighten up the eggnog.
Add the rum to the preheated glass.
Top with 2-4 ounces of the frothed eggnog.
Garnish with a few grates of fresh nutmeg.
* It is said the coffee flavor in the rum can be quite pronounced and it’s recommended to use a higher percentage or rum. Determine this at your own discretion.
