7 Romantic Movies for Valentine’s Day

Lifestyle & Musings/ Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day is approaching (along with frigid temperatures in the St. Louis area) and I mentioned to Tony that I would rather stay home, watch movies, order dinner in and hang out with the kids rather than go out.   This will be the first time in 20 years that we haven’t dressed up, him looking dashing in a suit and me in a new dress, and dined at one of our favorite restaurants.  Tony was in favor of the idea and recommended we, as always, celebrate with a bottle of our favorite champagne and box of chocolates.  This seems like a perfect idea to me.  Now, trying to decide which movies to watch and what food to order.

My top picks for romantic Valentine’s Day movies:

Valentine Wish List for Her

Fashion & Beauty/ Lifestyle & Musings/ Travel

Valentine’s Day is next week and I’m putting a list together of the things I plan to pick up for Tony and the kids.  For a couple of weeks, he has been asking me if there is anything special I would like but, honestly, I prefer when he picks out the gifts because I know they come from his heart which is most special.  That’s not to say I don’t leave the occasional hint – catalogs open to a certain page and my best girl, Bella, always has my back making sure she goes shopping with dad.  I’ve put together a wish list (at varying price points) I think any girl will approve of and if your special someone needs a few hints, leave this page open.  After all, we girls have to look out for each other, don’t we?

Amour necklace,  a lovely candle, macarons, beautiful lingerie (here and here), a fabulous handbag, nail color, parfum, my favorite bon bons, a Parisian & Versailles rendezvous for two, a little kiss

xoxo, B

Fashion Inspiration: Parisian Chic

and Bad Habits/ Book/ Fashion/ French/ How to Be Parisian Wherever You Are: Love/ Lifestyle & Musings/ Paris/ Parisian/ Style

I hope your 2015 is off to a great start! Did you have a good new year? I enjoyed having time off with my family to celebrate the holidays. 2014 was wonderful but I love the idea of a fresh start and setting new goals.

It was no surprise to me that I was gifted this book – How to be Parisian Wherever You Are: Love, Style, and Bad Habits.  Have you heard of it?  It’s a book meant to be entertaining rather than teach you how to be French, think Coco Chanel and Catherine Deneuve.  Although the subject is not a new topic, it’s a cute book and light read by author, Margaret de Maigret.  It delves into the lives of four stylish and friends who give you fashion and life tips from the perspective of French women, dining recommendations and places to explore whilst in Paris.  The photos are also beautiful!

My Weekend, Plus a Warm ‘Thank You’ to Our Veterans

Lifestyle & Musings

I hope you had a great weekend!  As always, it flew by in the wink of an eye.  We went to a wonderful farm dinner on Saturday evening.  I planned to post photos on Instagram, however, there was no internet reception and they would not upload.  It was dimly lit and all the photos didn’t turn out very well so here are a few of my photos and a couple from the web.  It was a wonderful evening and the food was amazing!  The farm to table concept has become popular and reservations sell out months in advance.  We plan to return soon.

Real Estate: Breakfast at Tiffany’s Townhouse For Sale

Lifestyle & Musings

As the iconic 1961 Audrey Hepburn film, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, celebrates it’s 50th anniversary and only two years after the townhouse where Holly lived sold for $5.97 million, it is back on the market for almost double the price.  If I had an extra $10 million, this place would be mine.  The first thing I would do is rearrange the furniture in the living room below, it’s driving me nuts.
