We just returned from a trip to Charleston, SC. I intended to post, however, unbeknownst to me, I wouldn’t have internet access other than my cell phone.
On a brighter side, we had a lovely vacation! I will tell you more about it this week. As far now, photos need to be organized and suitcases need to be unpacked and put away.
For Alexander McQueen’s Resort 2013 Collection, the ’70s style of David Bowie and the paintings of Gustav Klimt inspired the form-fitting, metallic-patterns with elongated legs and peaked shoulders.
Beautifully tailored, Art Deco was also an inspiration in the gilded metallic jacquard.
At a preview in her London studio, creative director Sarah Burton said she “wanted to bring everything back to the body”. She accomplished that masculine/feminine inspiration by pairing the menswear inspired torso-hugging blazers with slim, boot-cut trousers.
This embroidered dragonfly motif trouser suit has me swooning…
The lapels and piping are trompe l’oeil encrustations of beading.
This is my favourite collection by Sarah Burton.. I find each piece to be unique and exquisite.
