Haute Beauty ~ Favourite Skin Care Products

I try new beauty products frequently but I am, and forever will be, devoted to my skin care regime.  People ask me all of the time what I use so I thought I would share it here.

I suppose I have been using the same core products for close to 15 years {except when I was expecting or nursing}.  In my 20’s, I asked my dermatologist what I could do to help with anti-aging.  I was already using SPF and good products {mostly Chanel as I worked for them at the time}.  She suggested that I incorporate Retin-A and Glycolic Acid to my regime, and she made me promise her that I would no longer frequent tanning beds.  I thought hard but eventually agreed about the tanning beds.  I only used them periodically and sunless tanners were becoming much more natural looking so I knew I could do it.

Retin-A Micro Gel Pump ~ I purchase this from Canada Pharmacy as it’s much less expensive to fill than in the US.  {A prescription is needed}

Glyderm Glycolic Cream ~ I recommend that you speak with your dermatologist about which cream to use as there are many in this line.

I’ve maintained this regime for several years and it has worked wonders for my skin.  I truly believe these products make all the difference.  Ultimately, over-the-counter products charge high dollars for small amounts of these ingredients.  I wanted the ‘real’ product and the bonus is that it comes with a smaller price tag.

Other products I recommend ~

La Roche-Posay Anthelios 60 Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid.  This is AMAZING.  It immediately melts into your skin and foundation smoothly glides on top.  If you are in search of one, I highly recommend this.

Fresh Rice Dry Oil

I know that this can be hard for some people, especially those with oily skin, but I can’t say enough about the moisturizing benefits of oil.  I have normal skin and with using Retin-A Micro, I need moisture and hydration.  This along with a moisturizer is perfect for me.  I love, love, love rose products.  The REN rose oil is fabulous but I reluctantly tried Fresh Rice Dry Oil the other day and was pleasantly surprised, plus it is almost half the price.  A Sephora sales associate insisted that I try it and, to my surprise, it felt wonderful on my skin.  She gave me a sample and I must admit that I am quite pleased.

Dr. Hauschka Rose Cream.  Did I mention that I love rose products?  It’s not only for the intoxicating scent, but it has many benefits including moisture, hydration, and it’s a natural source of Vit C.  This cream comes in a light version as well that I love for day time; however, the cream is perfect for winter.

StriVectin SD Eye Concentrate is a great eye cream.

The same Sephora sales associate recommended this mask and it’s wonderful!  The scent is light and it left my skin so soft.

The infamous Clarisonic Mia ~ you can read about the benefits here.

I also try to drink at least 60oz of H20 each day, take vitamins, and eat healthy.  I am a big fan of Kimberly Snyder.  I love her Glowing Green and Skin Plumping Smoothies.  I plan to try the Chia Seed next.

I know this may seem like a lot of products but it really isn’t and the benefits are worth the time each day.  I do a lot of research before I purchase any product and these have found to be perfect for me, and all have a high marks in the beauty arena.

Are there products that you absolutely feel make a difference?  I would love to hear your thoughts.

 xoxo, B

    Bonjour mon ami… your post is perfect timing for me. I'm in the process of re-vamping my skincare and will be seeking the advice of a dermatologist.. but these are a fabulous reference point. And I love the first can be found in Canada (in a good price – usually the USA has the best prices). Wishing you a gorgeous day..xo C. (HHL)
