Heat Wave

With extremely hot temperatures soaring to 100+ degrees and the summer semester coming to an end, all I can think about is relaxing and staying cool!  I can’t even talk my children into letting me take them to the pool and I have to carry one of my Frenchie’s, Coco, outside as she runs the other direction when I open the door.
If I had my choice of destination to visit at this very moment, I would chose Monte-Carlo and the luxurious Hôtel Hermitage ~

This historic Belle Époque Palace, facing the Mediterranean Sea, has been a landmark since 1900 and has been granted the status of historical monument.
Cultivating a refined atmosphere, the 5 Star Hôtel Hermitage overlooks the Harbour Of Monte-Carlo and the Prince’s Palace, the hotel is appreciated for it’s charming architecture, unparalleled service and one of Europe’s finest spas.
Behind its corbelled facade decorated with frescoes and perched above the port, it harbors a few masterpieces, such as the Salle Belle Epoque with its pink marble columns and its crystal chandeliers, and a winter garden topped with a spectacular glass and steel dome signed by Gustave Eiffel.
I would lounge all day, indulge in various spa services and put on a pair of Louboutin’s for a night on the town…  a girl can dream, can’t she?
Wishing you a most lovely weekend!  xoxo, B

Oh dearest, we had this horrible heat DOME, as they called it on the weather report, hovering over us since Monday. We had HAIL STORMS as well and it was even scary to go out to take the trash! So little Coco was smart to avoid getting outside! Your dream destination by the sea is splendid. But I remember one year when I lived in Massachusetts RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE OCEAN, finding NO relief, even in the water because we had a heat wave that year that cause STEAM to rise out from the beach! IT was awful. I hope you are keeping still and inside because this is a bad one…stay safe my sweet friend, C'est LE CANICULE!!!!

We had a heat wave here too although the sea breezes have thankfully chased it away. Keep cool. I love your choice of hotel.

What a good choice! I used to live there, the place, not the hotel :-)in the 1970s and have wonderful memories of it. I have been back there a few times since.
The hotel you have chosen would be my choice too, having said that I have stayed in the Columbus Hotel which is modern but really nice.
No heat wave here….British weather…rainy summer. Mind you, it looks like it might be sunny this weekend.I hope that you weather cools down a bit.
    Have a lovely weekend

It's been raining here, on the other hand I adore the rain especially after days of endless scortching heat. Now the Hermitage is one of my beloved hotels in Europe. Old world glamour;-)
