New Year’s Inspiration ~ The Bubbly Bar

Nothing says “celebrate” like a glass of champagne and tonight there will be many toasts made to ring in the new year.

“Come quickly, I am tasting the stars!” ~ Dom Perignon

Instead of pouring straight Champagne, let guests get inventive with a bubbly bar.  The beauty of building a Champagne bar is the fun guests will have creating mixes and minimal time you will spend mixing cocktails.

Supplies:

Champagne ~ extra dry is best with fruit.  To determine the amount of Champagne bottles needed, divide the number of guests by four.
Various fruit juice, nectar, and purées such as orange, pomegranate, passion fruit, and raspberry
Sliced fresh fruit ~  raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, and cranberries to name a few
Large glass vessels for the juice, nectar, and puree’s
Various liqueurs and infusions
Simple Syrup
Lemon juice
Lemon and lime twists
Bitters
Sugar cubes
Champagne buckets
Tongs
Keep ingredients chilled until the table is set, approximately 10 minutes before guests arrive.

Many liqueurs compliment champagne wonderfully.  My favourite Champagne cocktails are the quintessential French 75, made with gin, simple syrup, and orange liqueur, and Kir Royale, a traditional French aperitif combining champagne with crème  de cassis.
Other liqueurs to include are Chambord, Saint Germain, Cointreau, Limoncello, and Aperol.
Pretty printed recipes are helpful to guests.

Looking for masculine cocktails?  Black Velvet and Champagne Etoile are sure to please.  My husband will be the first line!

Add decorative accessories such as custom cocktail napkins, festive swizzle sticks, drink markers, confetti, and fresh flowers.

A stunning and delicious display of hors d’oeuvres and mouthwatering confections are a perfect accompaniment.

Mini Pumpkin Cheesecake and Gingersnap Trifles are perfect for this soirée, a delicious recipe here.

Champagne bars are easy to assemble and certain to be a hit!  They allow you to mingle with your guests and enjoy your party…  We can toast to that!
