On My Wishlist ~ La Malle Macaron de Moynat

One of the oldest French leather and luggage makers, Moynat, designed a Macaron trunk exclusively for chef Yannick Alléno and their pop-up store in the Isetan department store in Tokyo.

Paying tribute to French pastry chef, Pierre Hermé and his famous macaron, the shape of the bag is inspired by the iconic automobile trunk hat “Entrepneu” that was designed by Moynat in 1900.  The raspberry coloured hue is inspired by Hermé’s other creation, the “Isfahan”.

La Malle Macaron also pays tribute to the Japanese flag with its circular shape reminiscent of the red circle in the center.  Once opened, the box displays a variety macarons that are elegantly arranged in numerous drawers and covered with alcantara chocolate.  The trunk will be available in January, 2014.

Can you imagine a more luxurious presentation for these delectable French treats?

xoxo, B
