Perfection ~

Was my thought when I saw each of these photos. Don’t they make you swoon?

I have a weakness for vintage french furniture.  I’m certain no one would have guessed 😉
I wonder it’s history…  who must have loved it, where it’s been, the sights it’s seen, etc.  Chandeliers, chairs, settees/chaises and mirrors are my favourite pieces.  I love a beautiful table as well; however, I’m a little more picky when selecting them.  When I see beautiful vintage french furniture paired with modern pieces and details, my heart begins to beat rapidly.
It’s also no secret that I’m in mad love with mirrored furniture.  I’m currently redecorating my bedroom and chose a few pieces.  It began with a lovely mirrored dressing table that my husband gave me for Christmas.
My dream bed
I don’t feel a room can be put together overnight.  I instantly know when I’ve found the perfect piece.  I sometimes get tears in my eyes!  I know I will love it forever.
When done right, a little fur (hopefully faux!) adds a glamorous touch.  The mantel and lucite table in this room are lovely.
I love the glow on the ceiling given by this chandelier.
Lucite furniture and accessories are some of my favourite accent pieces.  I can’t get enough!  The table in the above photo is fabulous.  Wouldn’t you agree?
What is your signature style?  Which pieces would it consist of?
I apologize for my absence lately.  Big XOXOX’s to my husband for getting my laptop working again!  Fortunately, the fall didn’t cause too much damage and it’s working like a charm.  Although I’m thrilled to have it back, I can’t say the same for Coco and Bogie.  They’re not happy to share my lap with it.  Bogie climbs over the screen and lays across the keyboard while Coco gives me a pout with hopes I will put it away and give her my undivided attention.
Au revoir mes amis! xoxo, B

Gorgeous post! So much lightness and elegant glamour here.
I too love older pieces and love how the add soul and personality to a modern setting. The secret for me is in the mix. To create a pleasant yet interesting tension between objects, perfectly balanced by a carefully selected colour palette and range of textures.

Congratulations on getting your laptop fixed. Clever husband! x

Well W*E*L*C*O*M*E back my dear. I missed you.
That husband of yours is one smart cookie.
I am in total agreement of ALL your statements…adore the fussy French style paired with the clean reflective mirror, crystal or pretty much anything that sparkles…I have been told that I must have a little “magpie” in me.
    A kiss for Bogie…

I SECOND THAT! WELCOME BACK, MA CHÈRE!!! And, this is a fabulous, perfect post! You know that I TOO love every piece mentioned here, and that bed….how about those two gold end tables on either side? Every room of my house is so different. My upstairs loft is very similar to the one in the post you just came to see chez moi; white, ethereal, a hugh four-poster bed with a down feather bed, lots of tulle every where, and painted white furniture, fireplace and chandeliers. The kitchen and bath are Provençal=style, while my studio is starting to resemble more like what you are describing here. WHAT FUN!!! Yes, keep looking until you find that bed! We have some exquisite antique shops here in the Twin Cities and surrounding environs, and I have seen some stunning beds. Oh Brenda, so good to have you back. I will shoot you an email!!!

Merci for your dear comments….we are moving along with our builder coming on Monday to get things started!!!!! Have a lovely day dear one…

    Grosses Bises, Anita

I love everything… so very very beautiful. I feel glamorous just reading! That bed is amazing. I get the same feeling when I see something I love. I tell my fiance it sings to me and once I hear that… I'm done, hooked, I must have it!

    Brenda ma belle amie!

Oh sweet one, I was out all day long yesterday, and was not able to visit! But, it sounds like you and your love did the same thing we did!!! ANTIQUING and dinner! Yep, we did the same thing, with the weather being the most lovely. Oh dear, your temps were way too high for my blood; I was born and raised in S. California, so I had enough of those kind of temps. We are having the most perfect summer weather I can remember in the 13 years that we have been in Minnesota. Blue skies, puffy white clouds, like in the first image on my post, of the hankies blowing in the wind that my sis in law took. Oh we went antiquing and we are on the hunt for a French style chair that we can upholster in a Carolyn Quartermaine “style” French script fabric. My dear blogger pal Karen Harvey Cox designed some ESPECIALLY FOR ME, and I am ordering a yard to cover my harp bench. We came back with a beautiful old lamp and much fun was had. I hope you had a great time…you will find your bed one day, I know it! Part of the fun is the hunt, and when you find it, you will be so amazed. When Ruben and I both agree on something and a piece strikes us at the same time, we know that it was mean to be!

How are you enjoying your day today?

Each and every precious day is so much nicer spent with those you love. ENJOY! And I so treasure you dearest. Bisous, Anita
