I typically wear a cat-eye most days. It looks great simply drawn to a more dramatic evening look; however, it can be a bit difficult to master at first. Flattering for most eye shapes, it has been worn for decades by bombshells such as Sophia Loren and Brigitte Bardot to the beautiful, and my personal favourite, doe-eyed Audrey Hepburn.
This tutorial will have you mastering this technique in no time –
Take a 1″ piece of scotch tape and press it to your hand to soften it’s adhesive power so it won’t pull too harshly on the delicate eye skin.
Place the tape under your eye, angling the tape from the corner of your eye to the end of your eyebrows.
Begin by drawing from the middle of your lash line, which is where the line should begin to thicken, to the outer corner of your eye using short, dash-like strokes. Placing your pinkie against your cheek gives added stability.
Continue to draw a line along the tape past the outer corner. Be sure the liner gradually gets thinner as you sketch.
Remove the tape to reveal your pristine wing.
My favourite products to create the perfect cat-eye:
Le Metier de Beaute Liquid Eyeliner
Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner. This stuff is easy to work with and lasts all day. Another favourite gel liner here.
Chanel #4 Pinceau a Paupieres
This brush has been the most used item on my dressing table for almost 20 years. It’s narrow and allows you to draw close to your lash line while giving incredible control. I also use it with eye shadow for a softer look than liquid or gel.
I was not able to find it available online. I hope it has not been discontinued! If so, I’m sure Chanel will come up with something comparable.
Wishing you a lovely day!

B
