The Time Traveler

I often read books and look at photos of differnet eras (as you can tell by my posts).  I daydream of what it must have felt like living during those times.  I’m mostly enchanted by the elegance, beauty and charm of the 1920’s thru the 1960’s ~

Audrey.  Isn’t she fabulous?

Fashions from the late 1940’s thru the mid 1960’s

Paris Cafe Society, 1920’s

Glamour of the 1930’s and 1940’s
The Can-Can at the Moulin Rouge
I’m certainly not insinuating that I would give up the luxuries of the 21st century ~ air conditioning, cell phones, internet, cable, my car, modern medicine… but what a magical time it must have been.

Au Revoir!  xoxo, B

BONSOIR MA BELLE! I was just working on a new post and I saw that I got another comment on this one..and I am so glad that I looked before hitting publish!!! Oh, first of all, I LOVE CARMEL! 28 years ago, my husband and I spent our honeymoon there!!! Then, a year later, we went back. However, we have lived in Massachusetts and here in Minnesota for a total of about 24 years. Going back to California for a visit will surely be wonderful. So you are in St. Louis! If we are ever there, I will most definitely look you up. How fun it is to meet such fabulous friends and have the hope of meeting them. I will be visiting with 3 blogger friends in CA and do I wish I could get to Canada. The Netherlands, Washington and N. Carolina as well hold promises of friendship but the time, isn't it dearest, there just isn't enough of it! Mais à Paris…..oh mon Dieu, allons-y!!!! That would be a dream. We could go to Ladurée and all of the most beautiful places.

I hope that you are enjoying this magical time of the year; but really, when you are happy, any season is a magical time! Grosses Bises ma belle, Anita

It was a glamorous time for fashion and elegance – except for the AC. After seeing that café image, I think I need to try one of those Little Black Dresses!
    Wishing you a fabulous weekend,
    Mimi

I couldn't have said it better myself. There is just something about those eras that we are desparately missing in these modern times. Now, if we could just revive the charm, grace and elegance of the past and throw in a little AC, life would be grand! 🙂
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

BONSOIR MA BELLE! Oh, thank you for gracing my comments page. Your visits mean the world to me, knowing that you so enjoy all the little French details of décor and FINE LIVIN'! Yes, like you, I love those images with the pure white….and a splash of that awesome blue or turquoise! Each photo you mention, I LOVE. My husband loves light colors but also likes some darker tones. We have a mix; upstairs is all mine. All white, splashes of pink and now blue, and my studio is all light. Just today, we put in a vintage marble fireplace that I found at a consignment shop for a song!!!!!! Dearest, enjoy your dimanche with your lovely family and dream of all good things…..Bisous, Anita
