Underpinnings ~ Part Trois

Knickers ~

Today, we have more choices when it comes to lingerie than one can imagine!  Over the years, our bodies have been gilded, bound, concealed, molded, modified, adorned,…  Although the rituals may change, the reflection will prove that our love affair with lingerie continues.

It has long been assumed that intimate apparel was designed primarily to protect and obscure female sexuality.  Over the years, the purpose of lingerie has evolved as much as the styles.

When it comes to styles, the choices seem endless ~ from minimalist to show-stopping.
We will begin with some of the show-stopping designs first!  Strumpet and Pink’s designs are feminine and whimsical.  There are so many elaborate designs that I want to show you most of them ~

Another regal line is N De Samim L’Atelier ~
16th century france is the inspiration behind this cheeky brand.  It’s about “creating a private world, exposing and following inspiration ideas from fashion, interiors and antiques.”  The things I love!
Sophistikitten is an online boutique that has replicated designs from the 1940’s and 1950’s.  All knickers are hand made to order.  There are three styles currently available ~ french knickers, silk french knickers and french side tie knickers.

The demure designs will bring you back to an era when elegance was prominent.  Sophistikitten’s knickers are adapted from an original 1940’s pattern.  Although there aren’t many colours to choose from on their website, the company accepts custom colour and fabric orders if either can easily be sourced.  I was able to receive fabric samples to help me choose a colour.

Damaris Evans motto is “Everyone’s got good bum cleavage”.  This avant-garde line is epitomized by the bow and corset knickers with cheeky bottom cleavage.  Elle awarded Damaris the title of “lingerie queen”.
Elle and Cee is another favourite of mine.  I was thrilled when I opened the pretty package box that I snapped a photo, something I typically don’t do.
Whilst the above choices are luxurious, they are not practical for everyday, non?  Instead, we must choose those that are ~ our choices consist of low rise, mid rise, high rise, boyshort, thong, briefs, some have garter attachments ~
La Perla                                                          Chantal Thomass
Fleur of England                              Cosabella
Chantelle                                 Hanky Panky
No wonder we spend countless hours in lingerie boutiques!
Au Revoir!  xoxo, B

    Merci!
I, too, have quite a passion for lingerie. My husband doesn't mind one bit… he encourages it, actually =)
