Summer Beauty Body Essentials, Plus DIY Coconut Butter & Rose Petal Body Polish

I hope your week is off to a wonderful start!  I’m wrapping up the Summer Beauty series by discussing some of my favourite body products, primarily self-tanners since they can be tricky.  Once I find one I love, I will continue to use it time and again.  It’s one of those “if it’s not broken, don’t fix it” type products.  I’m also sharing a wonderful coconut butter and rose petal body polish that is great for your skin and smells divine.

№ 1: Lorac TANtalizer Bronzing Spray I prefer a spray because they allow you to reach areas such as your back and behind the thighs.  This spray gives an immediate bronze colour which is nice so you can see where you’ve already applied.  It also comes with an applicator puff for mess-free distribution.

№ 2: Nars Body Glow has a unique blend of Monoï de Tahiti oil combined with a rich chocolate shimmer that soothes and moisturizes while creating a healthy glow.

№ 3: L’Oreal Paris Sublime Airbrush is an inexpensive spray tan that delivers a natural, healthy looking colour for a good price.

№ 4: Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster is sunshine in a bottle.  It evenly distributes a natural looking tan, even to the fairest of complexions, by simply adding a few drops to your daily moisturizer.  This is wonderful for those of us who never allow our faces to be kissed by the sun’s rays.

№ 5: Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Glow Pads are absolutely wonderful! The unique formula is delivered in a textured towel to enhance exfoliation and increase cell turnover, while distributing an even application to give you a most natural looking tan.

№ 6: Clarisonic Skin Care Brush I love my Clarisonic.  It’s one of those items you’re happy you purchased each time you use it.  It’s equally a great body exfoliator as well.  You can also purchase this extension handle to reach your back and legs.

DIY Coconut Butter & Rose Petal Body Polish

I’m a big fan of coconut butter.  I use it for it’s many health and beauty benefits by adding it to smoothies, beauty recipes, and applying it to the dry tips of my dogs noses.  This polish leaves your skin smooth and smells intoxicating.

1/2 cup Coconut butter
1/2 cup Almond oil
1/4 cups Sea salt
1/2 cup dried organic rose petals

1. Place the coconut butter in a bowl and stir with a spoon or whip with a handheld mixer (this will unify the oil and the butter and form a beautiful smooth butter)

2. Grind the sea salt in a mortar until desired size on the salt crystals

3. Crush the rose petals with your hands and mix all of the ingredients in a bowl
4. Divide into jars
